Car accident this morning on 8th Avenue

At about 5:15 when I was sitting on the toilet this morning, I heard a crash, like somebody dropped a case of tomato sauce in jars off a truck downstairs at Gristedes. 5 minutes later, I heard the sirens, so I looked out the window and saw fire trucks. On the way to the gym, I saw that an SUV had hit a pole and a trash can. On the way home from the gym, the cops on the scene told me it was a drunk driver.
